Meghan Markle’s former Suits co-star spoke about her possible return to acting and drove Suits fans into a frenzy.
The Duchess of Sussex was noticeably missing during this year’s Golden Globes when the cast of the popular legal drama had a mini-reunion.
Meghan starred as Rachel Zane in seven seasons of the hugely successful Netflix show.
But her co-star and love interest in the show Patrick J. Adams, was quizzed on the red carpet by E! News about whether the duchess would return to acting.
Keltie Knight asked: “We’ve heard all these rumours that Meghan may come back to acting, would you guys team up again?”
Patrick asked: “You heard that rumour? She told you that directly?”
But the reporter awkwardly responded: “The truth is, is that we made up a rumour, because we wanted to ask you about it, and that’s the truth. But would you ever team up again?”
The actor then said: “I think Meghan’s a fantastic actor, so we’d be lucky to have her back in the industry.”
Regarding rumours of a Suits reboot, he added: “Yes, let’s go, I’ll do it again!”
But fans were quick to comment on the actor’s baffled reaction and described it as fake.
One user wrote under the Youtube video: “From the guy’s reaction, it is a rumour. It is obvious the cast don’t want to work with Meghan again” while another one said: “The cast obviously don’t like her. They don’t group chat with her. Period.”
A third one commented: “Patrick was kind and professional. I am glad his character isn’t one to create gossip!”
A fourth one wrote: “The rest of the cast aren’t even in touch with Meghan. She did nothing to support the actors strike, a huge no no.”
