Meghan Markle 'won't make first move' to help Prince Harry heal rift with Royal Family

Meghan Markle reportedly feels ‘hard done by’ and isn’t ready to make the first move towards mending fences with the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex stayed in California with her children Archie and Lilibet last week, while Prince Harry flew to the UK after hearing about his father’s cancer diagnosis.

The Duke of Sussex endured a 10-hour flight for a brief 45-minute visit with his father. In total, he spent just 25 hours in the UK and it’s believed he didn’t meet with his brother Prince William or sister-in-law Princess Kate.

Prince Harry has previously expressed his hope for a family reconciliation. “The door is always open. The ball is in their court, ” he said in an interview last year.

“There is a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they are willing to sit down and talk about it. I don’t know how staying silent is ever going to make things better.”

But a royal expert has said that Meghan Markle doesn’t want to make too much effort to get along with the Royal Family during their disagreement.

Duncan Larcombe told Bella magazine: “Meghan seems to be the one who feels more hard done by and more distant from the royals.

“Meghan is very much an outsider so she’s not somebody who can make the first move or be the person that the other royals would reach out to.”

Harry and Meghan told the world about their problems with the Royal Family in a chat with Oprah Winfrey, on their Netflix show, and in Harry’s book ‘Spare’.

But for things to get better, Larcombe believes: “The driving force has to be Harry.”

He added: “There’s only going to be healing if it starts with some form of behind-the-scenes apology, which is more likely to be with King Charles himself.

“Harry may feel a slight twinge of guilt, but he still feels like the victim.”
