Meghan Markle warned now 'not the right time' for memoir as UK public 'overloaded'

Meghan Markle has been warned 2024 is “not the right time” for her memoir as the public has been saturated with stories about her and husband Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex is rumoured to be writing a memoir as part of the Sussex’s four-book deal with publishers Penguin Random House.

In January 2023, Prince Harry’s controversial memoir ‘Spare’ was released – making a number of controversial claims about the Royal Family. Now, it’s being said the 42-year-old Duchess plans to put her pen to paper.

However Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR believes 2024 would not be the time for the launch.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lynn said members of the public may have got tired of hearing about the couple following the revelations in both ‘Spare’ and Omid Scobie’s book ‘Endgame’.

She added: “There are many things Meghan will want to say and put her side across about.

“She’ll want [to] talk [about] her marriage to Harry, her relationship with King Charles and Camilla, Kate and William.

“I’m sure fans would like her to talk about her relationship with her father Thomas, but she isn’t that forthcoming about that side of her life.”

As well as Spare and the rumoured memoir from Meghan, the book deal also includes The Bench – a children’s book written by the Duchess and published in 2021.

The Mirror reports there is speculation the final book is a “wellness book” that the couple are working on together.

Lynn says that Meghan may want to give it some time before publishing her memoirs, in order to take “a step back from her association with the Royal Family”.

She added: “There will be a time in the future when an autobiography will be relevant, but not now.”
