Meghan Markle is on the verge of making a comeback, or so it seems, with a Netflix slate being announced, but a royal insider considers the plans “dubious.”
Richard Eden appeared on Palace Confidential, expressing concern, saying, “It’s emerged, that a senior Netflix executive has been talking about the whole bunch of programs, which Harry and Meghan are meant to have lined up, but he used the phrase, ‘very early development,’ which, to be honest, sets alarm bells ringing.”
According to Deadline, Harry and Meghan have “a scripted series, two unscripted shows and a movie at Netflix,” but referring to them as “very early development,” suggests there are no concrete plans.

In the same episode, Eden’s colleague Rebecca English chimes in, saying, “If I was them, I’d certainly be worried about it.”
She adds: “Their team have made very clear, that they want to end their look back projects, and I think it’s a quite grand, and a quite presumptuous, way of saying, ‘We’re not going to handbag the Royal Family anymore. We’re going to try and stand on our own two feet.’”
“But, as Richard rightly says, the interest in them has been shown abut the gossip and the inside story we don’t normally get, and they’ve delivered.”
English says every other project they’ve done, excluding the docuseries, has been either “canned” or lacking in “viewing figures.”

While the Netflix plans are vague, it’s been confirmed that Harry and Meghan have acquired the right to Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake and will be making it into a movie for Netflix.
The novelist turned to Instagram when this first happened, sharing her excitement, writing, “I’m thrilled to confirm that I’m teaming up with Netflix and Archewell productions on the adaption of Meet Me at the Lake. Will and Fern’s love story is dear to my heart, and I can’t imagine a more perfect partnership. Writing this book was a tremendous personal challenge, and to see it recognized in this way is truly incredible.”
