Meghan Markle unwilling to let go of old blog The Tig as she fights to keep name rights

According to the Mail, the former Suits actress applied to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to have it protected by law and, just days ago, asked for more time to complete the process.

The office states: “The USPTO issued a Notice of Allowance on Apr 11, 2023 for the trademark application identified above.

“Applicant’s second request for extension of time to file a statement of use has been granted.”

Meghan wrote about the Tig in 2017: “After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig.

“What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.

“You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world’.”

It comes as last week the duchess unveiled her first product to be sold under American Riviera Orchard – strawberry jam.

Meghan sent the product to 50 of her influencer friends to taste taste, with the jam going viral on social media.
