Meghan Markle ‘took the air out of the room’ at A-list celebrity event

Meghan Markle was at Variety’s Power of Women event last week, which was jam-packed with some powerhouse talent, but apparently, it was Meghan who stood out from the crowd, it’s being said.

Royally Obsessed co-hosts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito were so impressed by the Duchess’ ability to capture a room, that they added the apperance to their list of topics to discuss this week.

Robertal lists off some of the other guests, like, Oprah, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, just to name a few, but it was Meghan “who took the air out of the room.”

And, now that Roberta knows Meghan and Leo were in the same room, she wonders if there was any side talk about a romcom.

Both were surprised that Meghan stopped on the red carpet to give an interview and speak so candidly, talking about future plans and the success of Suits, but Roberta wondered if it was scripted.

During the podcast, Roberta said: “She got interviewed on the red carpet, which I feel like was such a surprise, to hear from her candidly, without a lot of the prep that goes into some of their interviews.”

She then ponders: “I wonder if the questions were given to her, I mean, the questions had to be given to her ahead of time, correct?”

On the other hand, Rachel thinks the exchange was genuine: “I don’t think so, I really don’t think so.”

Even so, Roberta was still was still unsure: “I feel it has to be so choreographed, right?”

It was Roberta who did the math, summing up the star power in one room: “The one thing, I just want to say, about the Power of Women event, in a room full of… Oprah, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Emerald Fennel, who played Camilla on the Crown, lest we forget, in a room full of those people — Meghan — took the air out of the room.”

She goes onto say: “And that’s multiple people saying that. She was mentioned in someone’s acceptance speech, saying something like, ‘I just took a picture with Meghan Markle, so I can die happy now.’”

She was really shook: “It’s WILD to me! I had no idea the power she has.”

Rachel had no idea, confessing to her friend and co-host (listeners): “Fun fact, I didn’t even know it until you said it, that Oprah and Leo were there… I mean, obviously, I am tunnel vision with the Meghan headlines, but that’s kind of crazy.”

Roberta does some fantasy casting: “I wonder if, like, Meghan and Leo were seated kind of close to each other, and she kind of leans over and is like, ‘Hey, I have this romcom coming up, I would love for you to star in it.”

The two hosts then giggle themselves into the next segment, turning their attention to Queen Camilla.
