Meghan Markle set to join Prince Harry on next UK visit but 'with restrictions' in place

Prince Harry recently expressed his interest in returning to the UK after his quick dash to London’s Clarence House to visit his father, King Charles, shortly after his cancer diagnosis was announced.

In an interview with Good Morning America, he admitted the diagnosis may bring the royals back together stating: “I’ve got other trips planned that will take me through the UK, or back to the UK, and so I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”

Prince Harry spoke candidly to the news channel while promoting his ‘One Year to Go event’ for the winter version of the Invictus Games, which is set to be held next year in Whistler, Canda.

For Prince Harry’s next trip to the UK, royal expert, Jennie Bond, thinks Meghan will accompany Harry despite restrictions on who she would be allowed to talk to.

Speaking to New! Magazine, as reported in the Mirror, she explained: “They would be confined, I think, to meetings with Charles – and perhaps Eugenie and Beatrice. The rest of the family would have to think hard about the implications of meeting Harry and Meghan.”

The ex-BBC royal correspondent said senior royals would have to consider their “loyalty” to Prince William and Princess Kate before agreeing to see the Montecito-based duo if they visited the UK, as the issue of trust would be on the agenda.

Jennie also thinks Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, could meet with the Royal Family over the next few months, and possibly with their cousins, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.

It emerged the monarch has only met his youngest grandchild, Lilibet, once when she came to the UK for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 where the trip also coincided with her first birthday.

In around two months time, Prince Harry could soon be back in the UK to celebrate a cause close to his heart – the Invictus Games.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to attend a service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London to mark the 10th anniversary of the game.

As reported in the Times, a source close to the project said: “Harry has indicated that he is comfortable coming back for a British-based Invictus Games and we understand that the Games have always had the support of the rest of the royal family.”

After spending 10 years in the military, Harry made the decision to use his own personal experience to create an event for others who have served, but adapting it in a way to suit wounded, injured or sick armed personnel.

The Invictus Games were first held in London in 2014, after Harry was inspired by the US Warrior Games, where wounded US servicemen and women compete in a Paralympic-style sporting competition.

At the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, Prince Harry made his first public appearance with Meghan Markle, who was then his girlfriend.
