Meghan Markle poised for major return to acting as Suits creator announces spin-off show

Meghan Markle could soon grace the TV screen once again as she is tipped to take on a new role in a spin-off of the legal drama Suits.

The cast of the defunct USA Network show sparked speculation about an impending return after they unexpectedly reunited at the Golden Globes over the weekend.

Suits creator Aaron Korsh is believed to have created the script for a new show focused on the love and life of a Hollywood law firm – with one character which appears to be tailor-made for the Duchess of Sussex

Career-focused Erica is a “smarter than everyone” African-American California girl in her 30s working with a star-studded clientele.

Korsh’s work has fuelled rumors suggesting he is trying to entice Meghan to make a comeback to acting despite her saying she would not resume her career as an actress.

The unnamed spin-off will be produced by NBC Universal and executive Beatrice Springborn insisted it would have “the same energy and good-looking people that the original” Suits had.

The original show aired from 2011 until 2019, with Meghan bowing out after her character Rachel Zane married co-protagonist Mike Ross in 2016.

The Duchess of Sussex maintained a close relationship with her co-stars after her departure, with on-screen husband Patrick J. Adams and other members of the cast attending her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.

However, actress Gina Torres confessed on the Golden Globes’s red carpet that Meghan is not in the cast’s group chat as none have her current phone number.
