Meghan Markle 'planning and regrouping' after 'vanishing into thin air'

Meghan Markle is likely “planning and regrouping” her next move during the recent stint away from the public gaze, it is suggested. The Duchess of Sussex, 41, will not be attending King Charles’s Coronation next month, with Prince Harry going solo, as the Duke has been during appearances promoting memoir Spare.

Former royal correspondent Gordon Rayner, pondering why Meghan has “vanished into thin air”, suggested in The Telegraph that she is “planning, parenting and regrouping”.

The 41-year-old did appear in March photographs during a visit to a charity supporting homeless pregnant women.

According to the Mirror, friends of the Duchess have said that Meghan sees her future based in the US, noting that any commitment in the UK will take a back seat.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Meghan will not be joining Harry, 38, at the Coronation in London on May 6.

The mother-of-two will “remain in California” with their children Lilibet, one, and Archie, who will turn four on the same day.

Royal expert and Daily Mail diary editor Richard Eden suggests Meghan’s no-show at the Coronation marks a “complete estrangement” from the Royal Family.

He added that the Duchess of Sussex “will not be missed by the royals”.

Reports have also suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking to branch out into the world of fiction.

The couple are said to be hiring writers to develop ideas for a host of projects, such as romantic comedies.

Last year, Meghan released a podcast series – titled Archetypes – on Spotify.

The Duchess may yet return for a second series, although this has not been confirmed.
