Meghan Markle 'pivots to full-time influencer' with 'soft launch' of major project

Meghan Markle is pivoting to being a “full-time influencer” as she plans to soft launch a major new project. The Duchess of Sussex is set to feature in chef José Andrés World Central Kitchen’s new cookbook to raise money for disaster relief efforts. Meghan will contribute her recipe for lemon olive oil cake. But Glamour’s Elizabeth Logan believes the recipe collaboration is a “soft launch” for the revival of Meghan’s blog, The Tig.

The royal is looking to relaunch her blog The Tig after shutting it down while dating Prince Harry in 2017. Court documents reveal Frim Fram Inc. has applied to trademark the site.

Meghan wrote about her life, charity work and love of food on the now-defunct blog.

Writing in Glamour magazine, Elizabeth Logan said: “Her next step into the charity cooking space has us wondering if she’s about to pivot to full-time influencer.

“She’s reasserted herself as a fashion and podcasting icon already, but to truly dominate the lifestyle space, she’ll also need a few signature recipes.”

Meghan has said she is “proud” to have contributed to the book.

A statement on Archewell Foundation website read: “The cookbook is a captivating collection of stories and recipes from renowned chefs, local cooks, and friends of the global nonprofit, which feeds communities impacted by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

“Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex is proud to have contributed a recipe.”

Andrés has previously detailed his friendship with Meghan and Prince Harry.

The 53-year-old told People magazine: “I love them. I have been able to spend time with them, working with them and they are very hands-on and highly knowledgeable of what’s happening in the world, what the issues are and what the needs are.

“For me, it is a pleasure to call them friends. All my life I have been trying to learn what exactly we are missing because why is there still hunger? What are we missing? We have to make the most of the opportunities of goodness, and I believe that with people like Meghan and Harry, we can make it happen.”
