Meghan Markle 'needs to get more Americans to like her' to achieve political goals


Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex should boost her popularity before entertaining the idea of seeking public office, a broadcaster has suggested. Archewell’s tax filings showed the Duchess paid over $100,000 (£80,000) for the services of Michelle Obama’s former press chief in 2021. The Duchess, 41, has seen her approval ratings decline following the release of the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan in December.

He told Sky News Australia that suggestions that the Duchess might seek political office have been branded “frankly ridiculous” by some in royal circles, but he “wouldn’t bet against it”.

And Myers last year noted Meghan herself had hinted at potentially engaging more with the Washington scene during a conversation with feminist activist Gloria Steinem.

“Meghan has said that she might be in Washington very soon,” Myers said, referring to a comment the Duchess made about taking a trip to the US capital with Steinem.

“Meghan was…talking about Roe vs Wade, a very, very controversial abortion law that has been repealed in the US.

“Prince Harry and Meghan have…got their financial freedom, they’ve got their essential freedom from the Royal Family, so they can speak on political issues.”

He added: “So does she (Meghan) have political ambitions? I think she does.

“And she’s certainly rubbing shoulders with the right people and making the right noises.”
