Meghan Markle leaves Royal Family in 'rearview mirror' as she embraces new Hollywood role

Meghan Markle has now carved out her California lifestyle and the Royal Family is in the “rearview mirror,” one royal author claims.

It comes more than three years after Meghan and her husband Prince Harry stepped down as working royals and relocated to California where they are currently raising their two children, Prince Archie, four, and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.

After moving stateside, the couple wasted no time in pursuing Hollywood, hobnobbing with A-listers and striking lucrative deals with media giants.

The majority of their output thus far has focused on exposing the inner workings of royal life, which culminated in the release of Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare.

However, having now firmly established herself within the Hollywood milieu, Meghan will now change tactics, opines Andrew Morton, author of the new book “The Queen: Her Life”.

“Meghan is making her own life on the West Coast,” Morton told Fox News Digital.

“The royal family is very much in the rearview mirror of her life. She’s moved on.”

The author, who previously wrote a book on the former “Suits” actress titled “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess”, believes there’s no love lost.

“I just feel that Meghan’s never really embraced the rules and rituals of the Royal Family,” Morton claimed.

It’s not so much that Meghan didn’t embrace the strictures of royal life, it’s that she didn’t know how to, reckons royal author Tom Quinn.

According to Quinn, author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, Meghan experienced a culture shock when she became a Duchess.

“Meghan comes from a society where if you’re talented and driven, you can get to the top,” he explained.

However, as the royal author points out, an inherited monarchy runs counter to the meritocratic ideal that forms the bedrock of America.

“She just wasn’t prepared. She didn’t realise this,” Mr Quinn claimed.

The royal author claims Meghan naively thought she could forge her own destiny within the Firm.

“It’s obvious when you think about it, but I think she thought she could come into the Royal Family and be the star.”

He added: “And of course, she [Meghan] couldn’t because the monarchical structures are medieval, they’re rigid.”
