Meghan Markle hints new lucrative deal is on the way in blunt Spotify statement

Meghan Markle has seemingly hinted that there could be another lucrative deal in the pipeline as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they are to “part ways” from Spotify. The couple released a statement stating that they will no longer hold a deal with Spotify, but said that the end of the contract was “mutually agreed”. Meghan and Harry had only released one lone podcast series – Meghan’s Archetypes – since they secured the deal almost three years ago.

The statement, released by both the Sussexes and Spotify, read: “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from WME agency – the agency who represent Meghan – hinted that the 41-year-old could be releasing more content in the future.

They told the Wall Street Journal: “The team behind Archetypes remain proud of the podcast they created at Spotify.

“Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.”

Speculation grew earlier this year into whether Spotify would grant Meghan a second series, although this was never confirmed.

The couple still hold deals with Netflix and Penguin Random House, having released projects with both of these in the last year alone.

Prince Harry’s memoir Spare was released back in January, and the Sussexes’s six-episode Netflix series was released last December.
