Meghan Markle fans in awe as she ‘gets straight to work’ after long 12-hour flight

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made royal fans go wild when they appeared together at the Invictus Games 2023.

The couple attended a glitzy reception for 1,600 athletes and their friends and family in Düsseldorf, the host city for this year’s Games.

The Duchess of Sussex caught an overnight flight, which takes around 10 hours and 35 minutes from LAX to London Heathrow on Monday night before continuing her onward journey to Düsseldorf on Tuesday.

She spent less than two hours in the UK before getting a connecting British Airways plane to Germany. The flight typically lasts an hour and 15 minutes. This means the combined journey from LA to Dusseldorf was just under 12 hours.

And royal fans were quick to praise her as she got “straight to work” just an hour after landing in Düsseldorf.

A video on Twitter showed the pair chatting to fans during the private reception.

One royal fan said: “Massive respect to Meghan 12-13 hour flight from LA, with a change in London. One hour after arrival @WeAreInvictus she is changed and looking fabulous.”

Another one added: “She is such a team player because I would have been dead on my feet after that long flight and then attending a reception that same evening.”

Earlier Meghan addressed the crowd in a two-minute speech, in which she apologised for missing the previous three days of the Games.

She explained she had to get her children “settled down” before she could fly out, particularly Prince Archie as he had to be dropped off at school.

She said: “Hi everybody. It is so special to be here and I’m sorry I’m a little late to the party.

“Like so many of you, you know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and Fisher House has created, and so I had to spend a little bit more time getting the little ones settled at home

“Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you.”
