The Duchess of Sussex’s “cruel and heartless” nature was revealed following her estranged dad’s reconciliation plea as she turned her back on her ailing dad, according to a royal expert who spoke to Express.co.uk.
Thomas Markle, 78, a former Hollywood lighting director, spoke with 7News Spotlight on Sunday, alongside his son, Thomas Markle Jnr, and daughter, Samantha Markle.
During the interview, the trio were grilled on their relationship with the Duchess, which has become increasingly toxic following their outspoken remarks to the press.
But the disgruntled dad said he is “open to any kind of conversation” in what he described as a “deathbed” plea to the “daughter he lost”.
Meghan, 41, has yet to publicly respond to her father’s appeal.

Carole Lieberman, psychiatrist and royal commentator, told Express.co.uk: “If anyone still doubts how cruel and heartless Meghan really is, they have only to watch her father’s interviews.
“There’s the irony of Meghan, as homecoming queen, smiling and waving to her dad, and lovingly saying, ‘hello daddy!’ But, now that she’s real royalty, she thinks she’s better than he is.
“‘As Thomas Markle Snr said, ‘she loved me. I’m her hero and suddenly I’m thrown out’.”
Meghan’s estranged dad shared never-before-seen videos of him with his daughter, claiming it was proof that “she loved” her dad who was “her hero”.
Markle urged his daughter to talk to him, while conceding that it is unlikely given that Meghan didn’t make contact even after his stroke last year.
He asked: “If she doesn’t turn up for a stroke, if that doesn’t move her, what would?”
Ms Lieberman claimed: “Meghan and Harry used her father’s paparazzi photos as the excuse to turn their back on him. But, although Thomas made a mistake in agreeing to do those, it certainly does not deserve their extreme abandonment.”
During Harry and Meghan’s bombshell docuseries, the Duchess said she had “lost her dad” who she has had a difficult relationship with since she began dating Prince Harry.
In Harry’s memoir, Spare, he also claimed that his wife “was mourning the loss of her father.”
The estrangement began after the outspoken Markle Snr admitted to selling stories to the press about his daughter.
During Meghan and Harry’s bombshell interview in 2021, the Duchess explained that she felt “betrayed” by her dad who had lied to her about going to the papers.
In an exclusive interview with Good Morning Britain, Markle admitted to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: “I denied it,” before adding that he wished he had “never done the whole thing.”
But despite claiming he regrets the decision, he went on to say: “Bottom line, I’ve never heard back from Meghan and Harry in any way shape or form. What I do if I don’t hear from them, is I’ll do another story for the press.”
The disgruntled dad has also made scathing remarks about Meghan in the past. In an interview with Mail on Sunday in 2018, he described his daughter as “cold” and claims she has a “sense of superiority”.
“What riles me is Meghan’s sense of superiority. She’d be nothing without me. I made her the Duchess she is today. Everything that Meghan is, I made her,” he said.
