Meghan Markle could bring back The Tig blog after Spotify podcast disaster

Meghan Markle could be set to bring back her former lifestyle blog ‘The Tig’ after her recent Spotify podcast disaster.

After applying to trademark the blog last November, the blog could be set to be relaunched as early as this autumn.

Fast forward to the present moment, the blog has now been issued with a so-called Notice of Allowance document by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

It is said that all Meghan has left to do is provide a statement of use, which is a document to prove that it is up-and-running, to get the trademark fully registered.

This reportedly has a six-month timeframe, meaning that Meghan would have to do this by October.

The application to relaunch The Tig was launched in July 2021 by LA lawyer Majorie Witter Norman, however after Meghan failed to sign the trademark application, it didn’t come to fruition.

Meghan started The Tig in 2014, when she was still acting, but decided to close it down in 2017.

At this time, Meghan was set to join the Royal Family, with her wedding to Prince Harry taking place the following year.

Earlier this month, Spotify and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a “mutual decision” to part ways on their multi-million-pound exclusive deal.

In the space of just under three years, the couple had released only 12 episodes of Meghan’s podcast ‘Archetypes’ and a festive special as part of the lucrative deal.

It was also reported that the couple had failed to produce enough content to receive the full pay-out.

Despite this, an Archetypes production source claimed that Harry and Meghan had “a lot of ideas and did pitch them”.

The delay was formed by huge amounts of red tape between the couple and the company and “things moved very slowly on both ends”.

It was also reported that the source said last week: “They were given no formal lay of the land to kick things off, so they were already on unsteady footing even before the ink was dry.”

Another source, who is close to the Sussexes, told PEOPLE that Meghan and Harry were being held to a higher standard than others, and had “plenty of things that are in different phases.”
