Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Hollywood A-list connections questioned by US star

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry being papped with celebrity A-listers has sparked concern as US star Bethenny Frankel claimed it’s odd the pair are seen with Hollywood favourites.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been seen mingling with famous faces since their royal wedding in 2018.

“Harry and Meghan were seen hanging out with Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow,” Bethenny mused, “…and I’m like ok. There are certain people that when they get famous they are only friends with famous people.”

Speaking on her podcast Just B in May, she continued: “I’m friends with some really famous people.”

The entrepreneur began to list some of her A-list pals from Kelly Ripa to Ellen DeGeneres but admitted she is not always “hanging out and dining with them”, adding she spends much of her free time with non-celebrity pals.

Bethenny called into question famous faces who are only seen with other celebrities.

She then claimed that Meghan is often only seen with famous friends as she recalled the couple’s 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle where George and Amal Clooney were in attendance.

“They only hang out with Kris Jenner and Ellen DeGeneres because they live in Montecito. And Oprah?” Bethenny claimed. “Are they not friends with normal people?”

The reality star suggested it was giving “elitist” despite them receiving a humanitarian award as she asked whether they were “people of people”.

Her comments come after Meghan and Harry were pictured going out for dinner at a sushi restaurant and were reportedly joined by Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Brad Falchuk, Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden, and Whitney Wolf Herd, Bumble CEO, and her husband Michael Herd back in May.

Their night out was in the same week the Duchess of Sussex was honoured in New York City by Gloria Steinem at the Ms. Foundation’s 2023 Women of Vision Awards.

In February, Harry and Meghan watched close pals and neighbours Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi renew their wedding vows.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen whooping and cheering after Kris Jenner officiated the renewals, which surprised the former talk show host.

The “Montecito Mafia” nickname has been given to Meghan and Harry’s close inner circle as well as the “rich and powerful” neighbours in the stunning community.

Members are also said to include the likes of Ellen, Portia, Gayle King and Gloria Steinem.

Victoria Beckham and Meghan’s former Suits co-stars, Sarah Rafferty and Abigail Spencer are also said to be part of the community.

David Beckham and Victoria were known to be good friends with the Sussexes, even attending their royal wedding in May 2018.
