Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 'dreams of conquering America coming to an end'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s “dreams of conquering America coming to an end” following a series of recent damaging setbacks, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the US in 2020 after stepping down as senior working members of the British Royal Family and signed bumper deals with Netflix and Spotify as they pursued successful media careers.

But Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s $20 million deal with Spotify has been mutually ended and their documentary series on Netflix was snubbed by the Emmy Awards – despite it breaking several viewership records for the streaming giant.

The couple are now thought to be on different career paths, with Meghan having signed up with Hollywood talent agency WME and Harry focusing on his Heart of Invictus documentary, which will hit Netflix next month.

It has led to some royal commentators to wonder what the Sussexes will do next, with one going as far as to say their hopes of being a huge success in the US are on the brink of collapsing.

Nile Gardiner told Daily Express US: “The Meghan Markle and Prince Harry empire is in serious trouble.

“Their deal with Spotify has come to an end and in fact, they were condemned by a senior executive there, who even called them ‘grifters’.

“It is not surprising we haven’t heard much from either of them in recent months because they have become hugely unpopular figures on both sides of the Atlantic.

“Their dreams of conquering America are coming to an end.”

Gardiner believes Harry and Meghan will do everything in their power to hold onto their respective Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, which they have kept since stepping down as senior working royals three years ago.

However according to the commentator, the couple “are really struggling to succeed as non-working royals”.

He continued: “The only thing Harry and Meghan currently have going for them is their royal titles, which they cling to like a life raft. I see no way back for Harry in terms of returning to the royal fold.

“Both Harry and Meghan are really struggling to succeed as non-working royals. But they will fight to keep their royal titles because of the prestige they bring.”

Another royal commentator has claimed Meghan is planning on becoming a “Hollywood power player” and has “set up shop” in an LA hotel suite close to her talent agency as she works on new projects.

Earlier this year, it was reported Meghan Markle signed with Hollywood talent agency William Morris Endeavour (WME), which has represented the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Adele, and Serena Williams.

Kinsey Schofield has revealed one of the rumors circulating is that Meghan is looking to make a big play in Tinseltown.

She said during an appearance on GB News in the UK: “One of the rumors is that Meghan has set up shop in a hotel suite across from her agency William Morris Endeavour and that she has her eyes set on bigger opportunities.

“She wants to be a power player in Hollywood and that is not the direction that Harry has any desire to go.”

Meanwhile, Harry is believed to be focusing on his own Heart of Invictus documentary, which will be released on Netflix next month. He could also reportedly travel to Africa at some point to film another documentary.

Recently, Netflix reaffirmed its commitment to the partnership with Meghan and Harry, with a spokesperson telling Entertainment Tonight: “The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry and Meghan launched as Netflix’s most spectacular documentary debut to date.

“Our exciting journey with them isn’t ending anytime soon. We’re currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus.”
