Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell Netflix series nominated for top award

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix series focusing on their lives since moving to the United States has been nominated by Hollywood Critics Awards in the Best Streaming Nonfiction category.

The organisation’s Twitter account tweeted the nominees this morning – Prehistoric Planet 2, Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss, Rennervations, The 1619 Project and The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy are also on the list.

Harry & Meghan caused enormous ructions when it dropped on the streaming service, with three episodes released on December 8, and three more the following week, focusing as it did on their strained relationship with UK-based royals.

Despite mixed critical reviews, it was the most-watched Netflix show in the UK in 2022.

The show holds the record for the biggest Netflix documentary debut, with a total 81.6 million hours watched on its first four days of release, adding up to more than 28 million households.
