Meghan Markle and Harry put on ‘power-couple’ front to try and be ‘popular’ in new video

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry want to come across in the best way possible a body expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chosen this year’s winner of their Archewell Foundation Digital Civil Rights Award and to do so they put together a sweet clip to break the news to the recipient.

Dr. Joy Buolamwini, a computer scientist, digital activist, and founder of the Algorithmic Justice League, was honoured by the pair in person, which was also shown in the short video.

The video kicked off with Meghan and Harry standing side by side as the former Suits star began explaining what the award was for and who they had chosen to give it to.

Speaking of the opening scene, body language expert Judi James exclusively told Express.co.uk: “This is a ‘celebrity power couple’-style appearance from Harry and Meghan with their chosen body language clips aimed at showing them as popular, gracious, generously tactile and, of course, still in love.”

When the couple finally made their way to an unexpecting Dr Joy, Judi pointed out how “Meghan is seen arriving in the room first with her arms already partly held up in an announcement gesture to offer a hug to the woman waiting.”

Meanwhile “Harry has a different form of ‘announcement’ signalling” as he entered the room behind his wife “bouncing forward and clapping his hands loudly to suggest ‘let’s hug it out’,” the body language expert said.

Meghan then exclaimed: “You won!” and leaned in for a hug and Harry quickly followed.

According to the Archewell Foundation, the annual award was launched in 2022, and is aimed to “uplift a new generation of leaders who are creating transformational change and working to advance civil rights through the online world”.

The winner receives a $100,000 grant to advance their work in civil rights.
