Meghan and Kate use ‘surprising fashion hack’ but one royal fan called it 'ridiculous'

Meghan Markle and Kate, Princess of Wales are royal style icons and always look immaculate, whether they are dressing up for a formal occasion or sporting a more laid back look.

And with access to some of the best fashion designers in the world, and probably some expert tailors when needed, it’s unsurprising that these royal women rarely miss when it comes to what to wear.

Non-royals may not be able to emulate Meghan and Kate’s exact style due to their often hefty price tags, but celebrity stylist Miranda Holder shared one of their more affordable fashion hacks regular people can try themselves.

The expert took to TikTok to reveal that Kate and Meghan have a special trick they use to “stay comfortable in their high heels all day long”.

This easy hack certainly comes in handy for royals, who often spend whole days doing walkabouts and meeting royal fans, not to mention crouching down to speak to young children.

Miranda told her 181,300 followers that “both Kate and Meghan are great fans of the leg-lengthening heels for formal occasions”.

She claimed that the ladies stay “comfortable” in them all day by selecting shoes that are between half to one size too large for them.

And Meghan and Kate aren’t the only ones who use this simple hack, according to the expert.

According to Miranda, celebrities and celebrity stylists use this trick for red carpet events to “avoid the dreaded blister”.

It’s definitely something non-royals can try for nights out and parties, or even days they have to be on their feet all day – it doesn’t cost an extra penny.

One @user8293302795961 commented: “Errrr I’ve tried that and it’s impossible as I walk out of them!! Or put a few rubber insoles.”

Miranda Holder responded to this offering an expert tip: “Exactly! Silicone pads and sticky tape!”

Fans were pretty divided on the effectiveness of the hack. @aishatuibrahim1 said: “If I did that I would just waddle all day long.”

@suz_anne said: “God this looks ridiculous when you see someone’s shoes flapping in the wind. Their toes are clawing on for dear life!”

But @janellelj disagreed: “I wear slightly bigger ones as a flight attendant and honestly it’s the best. No more sore feet.”

@carolenicole said: “I thought everyone does that. I have always done that.”
