Prince Harry and Meghan Markle use “secret signals” to communicate their feelings for one another when in public, according to a body language analyst.
Darren Stanton explained how the couple use certain gestures to demonstrate their “genuine connection and deep rapport”, as Harry shows his protectiveness over Meghan while she often tries to reassure him.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots he said: “When we see Meghan and Harry together we see prolonged eye contact, holding hands, physical contact – all signs of a genuine connection and deep rapport between them.
“As much as Harry is protective over Meghan, we see Meghan acting as a source of reassurance for Harry. She’ll often be seen placing her hand on his lower back when they are out together – a comforting gesture and a move she makes to show Harry her support.
“They tend to have secret signs with each other to signal actions.”

He continued: “The first one is that Meghan will put her hand on his elbow if she wants to leave a certain situation. If Harry is talking, when Meghan does this his foot position will change indicating he is stepping away from the conversation and moving direction.
“The main one between the two is eye contact, there is a certain look that Meghan gives him when she wants to show her support and check-in to see how Harry is feeling.”
Mr Stanton did also point out that when out with Meghan at a public engagement Harry often seems more “reserved” and is much more authentic when he is on his own.
The expert said: “There is a notable distinction in his non-verbal communication when Harry is on his own compared to when he is with Meghan, he almost feels like he needs to be on duty when he is with Meghan, he seems a little bit more aware of his surroundings, like he has to present a certain brand.
“His body language isn’t as open and he’ll often be more reserved. When he is on own, Harry has a sense of openness that we rarely see otherwise, he is very authentic in his emotions and his confidence increases as he doesn’t need to take on a protective role.”
Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to Montecito in California to shield their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet from the limelight.
Yet their hopes for privacy may be dashed as photographer Karl Larsen is preparing to launch a celebrity sightseeing tour around Montecito.
While he has clarified the tour will not directly pass the Sussex residence, he wants to take paying tourists around some of the couple’s favourite places in Montecito and visit Meghan’s home town to see her old homes and schools.
His tour has sparked backlash online, leading tour operator Tripening to post on Twitter saying they had removed the tour listing from their website.
