She added this “coincided” with the Queen’s belief that Harry’s “outbursts” and the fact “he was so uptight” were due to his relationship with Meghan Markle.

“It just shows, I think, that the relationship is just too far gone. I think this level of mistrust just demonstrates how there’s no coming back from that. In his book, Jobson claims that the Queen had the library at her Sandringham estate “swept for bugs” as she was “so concerned” about privacy there ahead of a meeting with Prince Harry and other royals.

The late monarch also nixed a proposal to have Meghan join the summit via webcam, saying that Prince Harry could “represent” them both, claims the book.

There were said to be security concerns about Meghan listening in on the meeting remotely, Mr Jobson claimed.
