Meghan and Harry want Coronation balcony appearance to be 'special family moment'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry desire a “special family moment” with the rest of the Royal Family, according to a royal expert. Kinsey Schofield claimed the pair wanted on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Coronation, something which will likely be reserved for working royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven’t appeared on the balcony for years. During the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee the Sussexes did not join other royals there, however, it has been rumoured that for the Coronation they would like to appear with the rest of the Royal Family in the spotlight.

“There’s a story circulating online now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want a special family moment and they would like to appear on the balcony alongside King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” claimed Ms Schofield.

She claimed royal enthusiasts were none too happy about this and said it was “interesting” the Sussexes chose the Coronation to insist on this when they weren’t on the balcony for the Platinum Jubilee.

The To Di For Daily podcast host added: “As you can imagine, royal watchers are none to thrilled about this. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not appear on the balcony during the Platinum Jubilee so its interesting that they would want to appear on the balcony for King Charles’s’ Coronation.”

There have been reports that Meghan and Harry are locked in negotiations with the rest of the Firm over what their role will be if they attend the Coronation.

Another sticking point is said to be Prince Archie Harrison’s fourth birthday which falls on May 6, the same day as the Coronation. It is claimed the Duke and Duchess want some sort of acknowledgement of that fact surrounding the celebrations.

The Coronation will be the first in 70 years since, in 1953, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at Westminster Abbey. Now, her son King Charles will have his own Coronation attended by royals, dignitaries and heads of state from around the world.
