Meghan and Harry told you 'can't have it both ways' as 'Sussex Squad' under fire

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been told they “can’t have it both ways” by a royal commentator.

Presenter Cristo Foufas was joined by royal commentator Kinsey Schofield on TalkTV to talk about fans of Harry and Meghan spreading rumours about Princess Kate’s health and public absence online.

They were discussing the “hypocrisy” of the Sussexes as well as their awareness of what their fans are up to on social media.

Cristo Foufas said: “They invade their own privacy, you can’t have it both ways. You can’t confess to the world every thought and feeling you’re having and be victims, and then expect your fans to give you a level of privacy. It’s absolute hypocrisy.”

He also noted the irony of the couple’s Archewell Foundation focusing heavily on mental health and preaching kindness online.

Schofield replied: “I do think they’re aware (of what their fans are doing) because some of the people who are the nastiest Harry and Meghan have called and thanked them for their support. I know they’re aware they exist.

“Do I think they should respond or act and ask people to stop? It would blow my mind if they did that because it would be the first unselfish act I’ve seen from them since they’ve been together.”

Foufas asked if the royals wanting privacy regarding their health issues and the palace not revealing anything was what was fueling online conspiracy.

Schofield replied that she felt the public was lucky to have been given the amount of information it was about the King and the Princess of Wales’ health and that it wasn’t owed more.

Scofield noted that the public was left in the dark about the health of Queen Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, while he was suffering with lung cancer and other ailments.

She said: “I think Harry and Meghan oversharing for the last four years, Meghan announcing her miscarriage in the New York Times, has warped our expectations of what we think we’re owed from the Royal Family. That’s not how a working royal conducts themself.”

The royal commentator said she did not agree with fans delving into the private lives of royals, such as Kate’s recent operation or Meghan’s miscarriage, saying she preferred to stick to their public work.

“There are things that are off limits,” she said. “Health, grief, death and children are off limits.”
