Meghan and Harry tipped to launch new 'surprise' initiative to offset recent setbacks

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has stated that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry always appear to have the “capacity to surprise”, particularly when it comes to what they will do next.

Opening up about what could be on its way for the couple, Mr Fitzwilliams has said that we should expect “something” from Harry and Meghan.

A new venture is likely on the horizon as the couple have recently experienced a number of setbacks, particularly in the form of the end of their Spotify deal.

Meghan and Harry also suffered a blow when their docuseries, which was released on Netflix last year, failed to appear on the Emmys shortlist.

The couple’s deal with Netflix is also said to be in a “precarious” position, with nothing in the immediate pipeline.

Commenitng on this, Mr Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “It’s unclear, at the moment, what the Sussexes plan to do.

“Don’t forget they have always had the capacity to surprise.”

He added: “Well, having said that, it simply isn’t clear. I’m surprised there hasn’t been an initiative [so far].”

He went on to point out that Meghan has a “new agent and a new agency”, in regards to her signing with US-based agency, William Morris Endeavor, earlier this year.

Speaking of Meghan’s new sign, Mr Fitzwilliams said that this is “likely to lead to something”.

The couple signed a multi-million-pound deal with Spotify in 2020, just a few months after making the decision to step back as senior working royals.

Until last summer, the couple had not delivered anything for the popular music streaming platform.

With the deal now at a close, the only project released through Spotify was Meghan’s podcast series, Archetypes.

It has been reported that, although the decision to part ways was a mutual one with the company, Meghan and Harry failed to meet the performance targets expected.

Although hanging in the balance, Meghan and Harry still hold onto their deal with Netflix, at which they have released two projects so far.
