Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not asked to attend his close friend’s wedding because “drama follows them wherever they go”, a royal commentator claimed.
The comment comes after Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, who is a close friend of both Harry and Prince William, did not invite the Sussexes to his upcoming wedding with Olivia Henson.
Sources close to the couple have since claimed Harry turned the invite down to avoid an “awkward” reunion with his older brother.
But royal expert Kinsey Schofield suggested the Duke of Westminster would have been right not to invite the royal couple to avoid distracting from his own wedding.
She said: “I think this decision is a pretty common sense decision.

“Why would you invite people, that just drama follows them wherever they go. And that’s my biggest argument towards Harry and Meghan.”
Quoting Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero hit, she added: “When are you going to look in the mirror and say ‘it’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me’?”
Schofield then branded the couple “toxic” and said that “they can say all day long that they weren’t involved in Endgame but at the end of the day their fingerprints are so all over Omid Scobie’s Finding Freedom that it’s hard to say that they were in no way shape or form associated with Endgame”.
Author Omid Scobie has denied receiving any input from the royal couple while writing his book but doubts about potential involvement have been raised.
Defending the decision not to invite the couple to the wedding, she told GB News that if they want a sacred day to celebrate a union, “why would you invite Harry and Meghan there to wreak havoc on your big day?”, branding their apparent snub as a move of “common sense”.
Since speculation about the snub emerged, a source close to the Sussexes has claimed Harry received a “save the date” for the upcoming wedding but had turned down the invite.
They told Page Six: “‘Harry actually got a ‘save the date’ card a few months ago but called Hugh and said it would be too awkward if he and Meghan Markle attended, so he made his apologies and Hugh understood.”
Grosvenor’s family is no stranger to awkward wedding moments when the Royal Family is involved.
His sister Lady Tamara Grosvenor’s wedding in 2004 caused some awkwardness for Queen Camilla as she was advised she would not be sitting next to then-Prince Charles.
She was also informed they would have to arrive separately at the venue as the late Queen and Prince Philip would also attend.
A Buckingham Palace courtier said at the time: “It may provoke comment on the day, but Her Majesty will also be attending and she is a stickler for protocol.
“A pew will be set aside for the members of the Royal Family attending, and it would be inappropriate for Mrs Parker Bowles to sit beside Prince Charles since she has no official standing.
“Even for Mrs Parker Bowles to arrive with the Prince at the event, in the presence of the Queen, would be to confer rights and status upon her that she simply does not have.”
