Meghan and Harry no longer ‘hot ticket’ as public not interested in what they have to say

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may no longer be the “hot ticket” with media executives and the general public alike as people are starting to lose interest in what they have to say, an expert has said.

The Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat that questions are starting to be asked about the Sussexes’ “star power” with the initial interest surrounding them following their departure from the Royal Family starting to dissipate.

He said: “The issue for Meghan and Harry is, are people interested in what they have to say?

“That’s not just the general public, that’s the executives working for these big [media] firms as well… Are they the hot ticket anymore?”

It was announced last month that the multi-million pound deal between Spotify and Archewell Audio, owned by the Duke and Duchess, had come to an end after just one series of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes.

Katie Nicholl, royal editor at Vanity Fair, told the programme: “I have heard for a while rumblings of discontent at Netflix over content…

“[Harry and Meghan] have churned out a narrative that I think has become quite tiresome for most people now, and there has been for some time an expectation of when we will hear and see content that isn’t related to the fallout of the Royal Family and isn’t related to his past, and seeing something new. As of yet we haven’t.”

The couple still hold onto their deal with Netflix, with their new documentary Heart of Invictus expected to drop on the platform in August.

A PR expert has claimed that although the Duchess is seen to be struggling in Hollywood, she may yet have a trick up her sleeve to surprise us all.

In April, Meghan signed a new deal with top talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME), which also represents her friend ande podcast guest Serena Williams.

Kieran Elsby, the director of Media PR Global, told The Mirror that signing Meghan will be a “major coup”, adding: “It is good business to have her on their roster. It is also good for Meghan having a prestige agency.”

But he then explained: “However, it’s been three months since the news broke and we’ve heard nothing since.

“This is a longer period of time than is typically expected for a new client to secure deals, which suggests that Meghan may be struggling to find her footing in Hollywood.

“It’s possible that Meghan is still in the early stages of developing her projects and doesn’t want to announce anything until she’s sure they’re ready.

“It’s also possible that she’s been rejected from potential partnership deals, which could be demoralizing and make her reluctant to share her plans with the public.”
