Romania’s answer to Donald Trump has jetted across the Atlantic with a warning to Americans that the European Union is rapidly being turned into China.
Christian Terhes, a Member of the European Parliament and President of the Romanian National Conservative Party, has caused such anxiety among Europe’s elites that his country’s government is trying to change the date of the elections to thwart him and his party from winning.
Terhes was introduced to the Daily Express US by Nigel Farage admiringly as “the man who is shaking up South European politics in a very big way.”
The veteran of battles with the EU, supported by Joe Biden’s Democrats, believes that Terhes and his allies are the hope against a move to crush democracies in European countries.
Mr Terhes told the Express that he has a very simple message to America to beware of what is happening across the Atlantic.

As well as the US Prsidential election, there is a major election in Europe as well for the EU Parliament.
Terhes is part of a cordinated effort across the EU with parties like Gioriga Melone’s Fratelli d’Italia and Victor Orban’s Fidesz trying to change the balance of the European Parliament.
But already in Pooland there have been concerns over the way that Donald Tusk’s new pro-EU coalition government has had anti-EU MPs arrested.
He said: “We saw Brussels being involved in kind of demolishing governments. Shifting, switching political majorities, this is not okay. If people in a country vote in a certain way, we should respect the will of the people. They claim that they defend democracy, but only if the outcome of the election is as they wish.”
