Manchester United approach club with 'transfer enquiry' following last-gasp Fulham win

Manchester United have reportedly made an enquiry into the availability of Galatasaray star Sacha Boey. Erik ten Hag has struggled with numerous defensive injuries so far this season, and the Dutchman is keen to ensure that further problems do not prove to be an issue in the second half of the campaign.

The Red Devils have made a disappointing start to the season, winning just six of their opening 11 matches. Pressure has mounted on the shoulders of Ten Hag as a result, with the looming takeover failing to justify several crushing defeats.

Bruno Fernandes was on hand to spare his manager’s blushes on Saturday when he smashed home a 91st-minute winner against Fulham to secure a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage. However, the performance left plenty to be desired and a plan on how to tackle the January transfer window is being drawn up.

Several enquiries have been made into potential signings, and full-back Boey is firmly among the considerations. According to RMC Sport, United have touched base with Galatasaray to sound out their interest in the Frenchman in the hope of luring him to the Premier League.

Boey is contracted to the Turkish giants until 2025, though Galatasaray were keen to extend his deal by a further year and hand him a bumper new contract. Those negotiations are now said to have stalled though, which will provide United with plenty of hope.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal among his admirers. The Gunners ultimately opted to pursue Jurrien Timber from Feyenoord instead and with three right-backs in his squad currently, it is unlikely that Mikel Arteta will push to sign Boey once again.
