Man Utd team news: Predicted XI vs Brentford as Martinez, Mount and Rashford calls made

Goalkeeper – Onana

Only David Raya has kept more clean sheets (nine) than Andre Onana’s eight in the Premier League this season.

Ten Hag will hope the Cameroonian fares better than his previous goalkeeper, David de Gea, in last term’s 4-0 rout by the Bees.

Defence – Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Dalot

Like between the sticks, United are set to remain unchanged in defence from the 4-3 triumph over Liverpool last time out.

Ten Hag has hinted Lisandro Martinez could be involved in west London after eight weeks out, but he is unlikely to start. Harry Maguire is an injury doubt after withdrawing from England’s 1-0 defeat against Brazil.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was hailed for his performance against Liverpool, having been initially set for the bench before Jonny Evans pulled out the day before. He should be at right-back, with Diogo Dalot on the left.

Raphael Varane could be entering his final 10 Premier League games as a United player. The Frenchman is in line to partner with Victor Lindelof again.

Midfield – Casemiro, Mainoo, Fernandes

Casemiro missed the Liverpool clash and the international fixtures through injury, but murmurs suggest he will be back in contention this weekend.

If so, the Brazil captain should come in for Scott McTominay, partnering England’s latest senior star, Kobbie Mainoo, and Bruno Fernandes in midfield.

Mason Mount is also an option after returning from a few months on the sidelines last time out. He is bound to get more minutes in the legs ahead of next Thursday’s return to Chelsea.

But Mainoo’s emergence has made Mount’s prospects of game time since his £60million arrival last summer look even bleaker.
