Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri wants to complete a loan move to Sevilla in the January transfer window despite Erik ten Hag’s attempts to delay the switch, according to reports. Hannibal turned down the opportunity to represent Tunisia at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in order to resolve his short-term future.
The 20-year-old has become a regular fixture in Ten Hag’s matchday squads and scored his first senior goal in September.
However, he has played just 327 minutes of football this season, and his prospects of game time look bleaker in the second half of the campaign.
Casemiro and Mason Mount are expected to return to action after lengthy spells on the sidelines, which will push Hannibal further down the pecking order.
Meanwhile, United’s exit from Europe after their fourth-place Champions League Group A finish has relaxed the fixture schedule.
Hannibal has, therefore, been among the players linked with loan exits this winter, starting with Donny van de Beek joining Eintracht Frankfurt.
United triggered the break clause in Sergio Reguilon’s contract a day later, sending him back to Tottenham Hotspur, and Jadon Sancho is on the verge of a Borussia Dortmund return.

According to Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla, Sevilla are in negotiations to sign Hannibal on a short loan until the end of the season.
It’s claimed that the combative midfielder is near the top of sporting director Victor Orta’s shortlist, and efforts are being made to lure him to the La Liga outfit.
Ten Hag has so far blocked Hannibal’s exit as he reportedly waits to ensure other players are fit before losing another midfielder this month.
But the report adds that Hannibal actively wants the move, which would help boost his development despite Sevilla enduring an even more disastrous season than United.
