Man Utd star Harry Maguire spotted at Wrexham as Ryan Reynolds closes in on major coup

Wrexham, just one year after returning to the English Football League, require a maximum of five points from their final three games to guarantee automatic promotion to League One.

Phil Parkinson’s side would confirm a quick exit from the fourth tier on Saturday if they beat Forest Green Rovers and MK Dons and Barrow fail to win against Mansfield and Gillingham, respectively.

They showed no signs of slowing down on Tuesday as they thrashed play-off chasers Crawley 4-1 at the Racecourse, strengthening League Two’s strongest home record.

Ryan Barnett opened the scoring after 21 minutes before Paul Mullin added a second just moments later, cruising into the break with a comfortable two-goal cushion.

Andy Cannon made it 3-0 in the 76th minute, and Mullin notched the second of his brace less than 10 minutes from full-time to extend it to 4-0.

Klaidi Lolos’ last-gasp consolation strike didn’t dampen the celebrations, with Maguire reportedly watching on from the stands.

According to the Mail, the United centre-back was in attendance to support his younger brother, Laurence Maguire, who plays in the same position for Crawley.

The 27-year-old is an important player for his side and took 120 touches against Wrexham, completing 90 per cent of his 105 passes and created a chance from defence.

He made three clearances, one block, one interception and one tackle but could only win three of his seven duels against the Red Dragons.

Maguire was watching on just two days after producing a solid performance in United’s 2-2 draw against Premier League title challengers Liverpool.

The former Red Devils captain looks likely to play a significant role for Erik ten Hag in the run-in amid a relentless injury crisis at Old Trafford.

Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans are all currently out of action due to injuries, as are both left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Maguire and 19-year-old talent Willy Kambwala earned plaudits for their performances against Jurgen Klopp’s high-flyers and are expected to retain their spots at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

United’s hopes of Champions League qualification seem ominous but Ten Hag’s men have an FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley to look forward to next Sunday.

By that point, Reynolds and McElhenney’s Wrexham could already be celebrating their return to League One after 19 years as the Hollywood story continues.
