Man Utd set for 'three more imminent transfers' after Jadon Sancho to continue exodus

Manchester United completed their third move of the January transfer window on Thursday, sending Jadon Sancho back to Borussia Dortmund on a short loan. And Erik ten Hag could imminently oversee three more, with one set to go through as early as today, as he cuts his squad for the second half of the season.

United wasted no time completing business in the New Year, with Donny van de Beek joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan on January 1. The Bundesliga side have the option to buy Van de Beek for around £12million.

A day later, Sergio Reguilon’s time at Old Trafford ended. United triggered the break clause in his loan contract, sparking his return to Tottenham Hotspur after making 12 appearances.

Sancho escaped his first-team exile at Carrington by returning to Dortmund this week. There is no buy option in that deal ahead of INEOS evaluating the 23-year-old’s future in the summer.

And now, starlet striker Joe Hugill is set to be the fourth player with senior experience heading for the exit door this winter.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Hugill, 20, is expected to join League One outfit Burton Albion on loan today, having agreed the move last week.

His exit was slightly delayed due to United’s striker shortage requiring him in Ten Hag’s training sessions. But he is now primed to join the club sat 17th in England’s third tier.

Hannibal Mejbri, who declined a spot in Tunisia’s Africa Cup of Nations squad to resolve his future, won’t be too far behind Hugill leaving M16.

The 20-year-old midfielder is reportedly on the brink of a loan switch to Sevilla, having opted for the La Liga side over Premier League experience at Everton.

Final negotiations will likely involve a loan fee and the value of a buy option set to be included in Hannibal’s Sevilla contract. His United deal expires in 2025 after having his 12-month extension triggered.
