Man Utd coach Benni McCarthy drops hint over his future as pressure grows on Erik ten Hag

In 2016, he returned to South Africa as the head coach of Cape Town. He completed his Pro License while in charge of the team and led them to the MTN 8 Cup in 2018, before being dismissed the following year.

McCarthy then took over AmaZulu in South Africa and guided them to their first CAF Champions League, before parting ways with the club in 2022. He joined Ten Hag’s staff at United a few months later and helped Rashford amass a goal tally of 30 in all competitions during their first year together.

He has since worked closely with Hojlund as the club’s only recognised centre-forward with Anthony Martial injured for the majority of the year, but has eyes set on a managerial role in a hint that McCarthy’s time at United could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
