Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag shuts down Alejandro Garnacho question after bold claim

The 19-year-old produced a jaw-dropping bicycle kick just three minutes into the Premier League clash, silencing the hostile home crowd on the back of their 10-point deduction.

It will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest goals in United’s storied history and was a reminder of Garnacho’s sky-high potential.

Ten Hag was absent from the technical area as he served his one-match suspension for receiving three yellow cards.

He had one of the best views of Garnacho’s strike in the house, watching on from the directors’ box with United football director John Murtough and interim chief executive Patrick Steward.

But after full-time, he was quick to shut down suggestions that the Argentina international has the makings of a Red Devils legend after his latest headline-stealing moment.

“Don’t compare. I don’t think it’s right,” Ten Hag responded to whether Garnacho can mirror Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy at Old Trafford.
