Man Utd and Arsenal join Chelsea in falling victim to Prem club as 'new deal agreed'

Numerous Premier League clubs have been left disappointed by the news that Eberechi Eze is set to extend his contract with Crystal Palace. The playmaker has shone at Selhurst Park so far this season and continues to catch the eye of potential suitors.

Eze has impressed since joining Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, scoring 16 goals in 103 appearances. The versatility of the forward has seen him position himself on the cusp of the England team as well, though injuries have prevented him from being a regular in Gareth Southgate’s side.

The 25-year-old can play on either wing and as a No 10, making him an incredibly valuable asset for Crystal Palace. Several sides registered an interest in signing Eze over the summer, though Roy Hodgson’s side managed to fend off the bids to retain the services of their star.

According to 90min, Eze has now signed a new long-term deal with the Eagles that has seen him receive a ‘hefty wage rise’ – with the midfielder tripling his weekly income. The news is expected to send shockwaves through the Premier League, with several clubs highlighting the ex-QPR starlet as a 2024 transfer target.

Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs credited with holding an interest in Eze, with Tottenham still keen to acquire his services despite signing James Maddison over the summer. Newcastle and West Ham are also long-term admirers of the Palace playmaker and continue to monitor his progress.

Eze’s new deal with the Eagles means that his transfer value will soar, which could prompt interested parties to turn their attention to alternatives.
