Man creates AI platform to speak to lost loved ones and have 'realistic conversations'

A new artificial intelligence (AI) platform allows you to have “realistic conversations” with lost loved ones or with your favorite stars – dead or alive.

A new AI platform, developed by Youtuber Jason Appleton, will allow users to chat to well-known public figures and ask them questions.

But it will also give people the opportunity to create an AI version of themselves which will allow them to carry on sharing their wisdom, stories and memories long after they have died.

Jason, who has 145,000 YouTube subscribers under the name Crypto Crow, had the idea for Eternalized.ai after he found himself longing to talk to his late grandfather.

Keen to create a lasting legacy of his own, he set about immortalizing himself through artificial intelligence.

The 45-year-old influencer, who lives in Florida, told Daily Express US: “My grandfather was a far more interesting man than I ever knew or appreciated when he was alive. He was a war veteran, had connections to the Mob and he was hilarious.

“I wish I could chat with him today and have him tell me all of his old stories. Creating a legacy is really important to me and I want to make sure my grandkids and their kids can always get to know me directly some day.”

Eternalized.ai uses technology such as facial animation, lip syncing and voice replication to allow people to hold “realistic conversations” with AI versions of real people, known as Eternals.

Jason and a number of well-known cryptocurrency personalities are already on the site, allowing their fans to ask them questions and learn more about them.

Eternalized subscribers will have access to a continuously expanding library of Eternals, meaning they can chat with and learn from famous faces, living and dead.

Jason added: “These are useful models, though primarily a demonstration of what end users will be able to create of themselves to be enjoyed by future generations of their friends and family.”
