Man City could make four changes to starting XI for thrilling Real Madrid clash

Foden should therefore replace Julian Alvarez in an attacking midfield role alongside Kevin De Bruyne. The fourth and final change could see Bernardo Silva return to the starting line-up on the right wing at the expense of Oscar Bobb.

With four appearances to his name this campaign, Bobb is no stranger to Champions League action, but occasions don’t come much bigger than Tuesday’s clash. And there is arguably no better City player for the big occasion than Bernardo, who looks set to leave the club this summer.

As ever, Erling Haaland is a shoo-in to lead the line for the reigning treble winners as they look to steal a march on Los Blancos ahead of next week’s second leg at the Etihad Stadium. Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, Jeremy Doku and Alvarez would all be game-changing options from the bench if left out.

Man City’s predicted XI: Ederson, Stones, Dias, Akanji, Lewis, Rodri, Bernardo, De Bruyne, Foden, Grealish, Haaland
