Man called bus driver 'Hamas' as he unleashed disgusting racist tirade

A man has pleaded guilty to shouting racist abuse at a bus driver during an argument, calling him “terrorist” and “Hamas”.

Hardy Jalloh, 34, from Stamford Hill in north London, was on a bus in Feltham when he got into an argument with the driver and started yelling abuse.

He called the driver a “terrorist” and “Hamas”. He was arrested and later charged.

Chief Inspector Stephen Warnes, who led the investigation, said: “We will not tolerate any form of hate crime, or tolerate anyone inciting violence.

“We continue to work alongside our colleagues at Transport for London to ensure their staff and Londoners can go about life without suffering abusive behaviour.”

Hardy Jalloh has pleaded guilty to a public order offence under Section 4A of the Public Order Act, a racially aggravated offence under Section 31 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, as well as possession of cannabis.

He appeared at West London Magistrates’ Court on October 28, pleaded guilty to all offences and was bailed to appear at the same court on November 27.

The Met say they are listening to and working with London communities and partners to make sure they feel safe in light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Hundreds of officers have been deployed to provide high-visibility patrols across the capital.

They are also continuing to target those who commit hate crimes, with more than 70 arrests carried out so far for offences relating to the Israel/Hamas conflict.

If you experience or witness hate crime, report it to police on 101 or in an emergency on 999.
