Major manhunt sparked as grinning rapist goes on the run 'with vulnerable female'

Police are on the hunt for a rapist who is on the run with a vulnerable woman.

Martin Travis, 32, is wanted by Lancashire Police for breaching a court order and also for failing to attend court.

Officers believe he is with “a vulnerable female and is possibly sleeping rough” and has connections to Wigan, Greater Manchester, Blackpool, Southport and Liverpool.

Travis is a convicted rapist and was sentenced to six years in prison in 2014.

In 2017, just one month after being released he was wanted by police again after breaking his licensing conditions, according to the Liverpool Echo.

But Travis is still missing with police issuing several calls for information yesterday afternoon.

A police statement read: “Have you seen Martin Travis? He’s wanted for failing to appear at magistrates last month and for a breach of his notification requirements.

“Travis is a registered sex offender.

“He is 32, white, five ft 11ins, thin build, short dark brown straight hair, dark brown beard, brown eyes, north-west accent.”

It added: “Travis is believed to be in the company of a vulnerable female and is possibly sleeping rough. He has links to Blackpool, Liverpool, Southport and Wigan.

“If you see him or know where he may be please call us on 101 quoting log LC-20231130-0545 or email MosovoWest@lancashire.police.uk.”

In a post on Twitter, Lancashire Police called for anyone with information to come forward.
