Madeleine McCann cops 'desperate to track down prime suspect's ex-lovers'

Police in Germany are actively looking for former romantic partners of Christian B, the main suspect in the Madeleine McCann investigation.

Investigators believe that these ex-lovers may be able to reconstruct the “confused timeline” of the years when the 54-year-old was allegedly “drifting” around Praia De Luz.

This effort is especially urgent because officers are racing against the clock to find a link between the convicted sex offender and Maddie’s disappearance.

A source familiar with the case told the Sun: “German detectives remain convinced Christian B was involved in Maddie’s disappearance.

“But they still have a very confused timeline of Christian B’s life spent on Praia De Luz.”

They added for an extended period, Christian B is believed to have wandered across [Praia De Luz], residing in a van, and investigators aim to gain insight into his activities and the individuals he associated with during this period.

Ex-partners of Christian B have previously come forward. In a case from two years ago, Nuray Oezgen described meeting Christian B while working at a pub in Hanover in 2012, which led to them eventually sharing a home.

However, after a few months, she noticed his increasing aggression and habit of drinking beer and Jagermeister with friends while she worked alone.

The relationship soured when Christian B developed an unhealthy obsession with schoolgirls, according to Nuray. The breaking point came when she discovered his sexual relationship with a local teenager, who he had brought back to their flat.
