Machete gang victim who had his leg hacked off taunts thugs from his hospital bed

A man who lost his leg in a brutal machete attack has taunted the gang from his hospital bed.

The man and his partner were violently attacked by a blade-wielding gang in Glasgow on May 17 at around 2.30am over a drug debt.

Following the attack, the man had to have his right leg amputated and several of his fingers sewn back on. His partner, also 28, also had to have several fingers reattached.

Now the victim, who goes by the online alias ‘Strictly Criminal’ has shared a new video from his hospital bed confronting the gang who attacked him.

In the video, where he can be seen without his right leg, he insults the gang and refers to them as “f*****g dafties”.

He said: “Take the fingers, take the leg, but you won’t take my life, ya bunch of f***ing dafties. [sic]” In the background of the video, a woman can be heard giggling.

The female victim of the attack said she has since split from her partner and that her life will never be the same again.

She said: “It’s a horrendous thing that happened to me and it’s difficult to talk about.”

The victim added: “I’m just trying to move forward with my life and recover from all of this. It has been a traumatic experience.

“I’m trying to focus on me and the kids at the moment. My partner and I have now gone our separate ways.”

Speaking to the Daily Record, neighbours said that the woman’s partner was released from jail on the day of the attack and claimed police told them that the machete gang had travelled from Liverpool to seize drugs and cash.

They also said that the victim had had her fingers chopped off as she was calling the police.

They said: “The woman’s boyfriend had been released from jail on Tuesday and then the attack happened in the middle of the night.

“The gang burst through the front door and she had her fingers chopped while she was phoning the police. The police came and boarded up the house. I’ve not seen her for weeks now.”

Another neighbour added: “Police turned up on the street and were going door to door asking if we had seen anything.

“One officer told me her boyfriend owed a drug gang from Liverpool £100,000. He’d just been let out of jail before the attack.”

Both victims have shared photos of the attack on social media, with the man posting from his hospital bed and the woman showing her left arm bandaged from below the elbow.

No arrests have been made following the attack and police say their enquiries are ongoing.
