Queues are building on the M1 after a crash has blocked part of the road. Drivers have been told their journeys will be delayed by up to 50 minutes following the incident.
The crash is affecting traffic on the northbound junctions of the major motorway, between junctions 20 and 21. Traffic cameras show hoards of vehicles at a standstill.
National Highways says the road is not expected to clear until 9.15am – but this can be pushed back with little notice. It is not yet known how many cars are involved and if there are any injuries.
Cameras show the roads are clear on the approach to the stretch of road which has been impacted by an accident.
