Luke Littler received Man Utd gift as star wants to show Ten Hag 'how to win a trophy'

Darts’ latest breakout star Luke Littler was given tickets for a stadium tour of Manchester United’s Old Trafford for Christmas. The 16-year-old is keen to take a look around the home of his boyhood club, though those plans have been put on pause whilst he bids for glory in the Paddy Power PDC World Championship.

Littler became the youngest player to ever reach the last 16 of the competition when beating Matt Campbell 4-1 on Wednesday. The teenager has banked himself £35,000 with his performances, winning over the Alexandra Palace crowd in doing so.

A match against Raymond van Barneveld or Jim Williams now awaits Littler, and he will be hoping that his fairytale of a tournament continues against either man. Littler has spoken about how he plans to enjoy his time away from Ally Pally once the championship has drawn to a close, and heading to Manchester is now among his plans.

Littler was gifted a pair of tickets to take a tour of the Theatre of Dreams next year, and he has joked that he hopes to ‘show them how to win’ following his string of victories of late. Speaking about his Christmas presents, Luke the Nuke said: “I got stuff for my Xbox, a controller, gift cards.

“Two tickets for the Manchester United stadium tour, so I will go to that after the Worlds. Hopefully I’ll show them how to win one (a trophy).”

Erik ten Hag’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League and will need to improve massively if they are to push for any silverware, though their 3-2 win over Aston Villa did indicate that there is potential in the squad.

“I don’t know too much about the Glazers, but the comeback against Aston Villa was good to watch,” said Littler, who is keen to focus on darts and looking forward to seeing who he will be tasked with facing in the next round of the Worlds.
