Luke Littler plotting Luke Humphries revenge as stars to clash in Premier League opener

Littler rose to fame over the festive period, beating several of his childhood heroes – including Raymond van Barneveld – en route to the final of the World Championship at Alexandra Palace. However, the teen fell short at the final hurdle, throwing away the chance to take a 5-1 lead before eventually losing 7-4 to Humphries.

The recently-turned 17-year-old bounced back in tremendous style though, winning his first senior title at the Bahrain Darts Masters. Littler cruised past the likes of Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall before comfortably beating Michael van Gerwen in the final.

Littler will be hoping to build on his momentum next week when he makes his Premier League debut, and the storyline is waiting for the teen sensation. Luke the Nuke will face Humphries on the opening night of the competition at the Utility Arena in Cardiff.

The Welsh crowd are expected to be firmly in Price’s camp on the night, though Littler is hopeful that he can continue to find his rhythm on the biggest stages to make his mark and get the better of Humphries.

The world No. 1 lost his 20-game winning streak in Bahrain, though Littler does not believe that his opponent should be overlooked and still believes that the 28-year-old is the ‘one to beat’ and is looking forward to the challenge.
