Luke Littler hits staggering nine-darter to win £30k jackpot over Rob Cross in Belgium

Luke Littler sent the Belgian Darts Open crowd into raptures by hitting a sublime nine-darter in the final against Rob Cross. The 17-year-old defeated Cross 9-8 on his Euro Tour debut and bank £30,000 in the process.

Littler has already made what feels like an entire career’s worth of accolades, downed Cross with a 103.8 average and the human highlight reel produced once again with an incredible nine-darter.

Littler started the 11th leg of the final with a 177 score and next threw three treble 20 darts. Then darts’ newest star managed to throw a 144 finish to complete his third nine-darter of the year.

He made an additional five 180s and Cross could only stand and applaud the efforts of his Premier League rival before giving him a warm embrace back to the oche.

His victory over Cross also sealed a place in the World Matchplay in what was an eventful day for the youngster, having been squared up to by his semi-final opponent Ricardo Pietreczko.

The German was unimpressed with Littler attempting an unorthodox 147 checkout and later described him as arrogant on social media, while the teen was preparing for a final showdown with Cross.
