Luke Humphries shows true colours in immediate reaction to Premier League Darts defeat

World darts champion Luke Humphries showcased why he is so beloved on the tour in his immediate reaction to defeat to Nathan Aspinall in the Premier League. ‘Cool Hands’ was unable to pull off a remarkable comeback and went down 6-5 in Exeter, but was delighted for his opponent.

Humphries had found himself 5-1 down against the ‘Asp’ after blowing away the match favourite in the opening six legs, but Littler calmed down and fought all the way to tie their semi-final.

However, Aspinall shone on the trebles and left himself 160 for a place in the final. Two treble 20s and set up what would be a remarkable out on top to claim a remarkable victory, which he hit and spark joyous scenes inside the arena.

Humphries himself could even be seen joining in with Aspinall’s celebrations, clearly over the moon for his opponent despite his own hopes dashed of a first Premier League win.

Humphries’ impressive form in previous nights had continued in the first round when he defeated Michael van Gerwen 6-3. He ended the Dutchman’s unbeaten run to set up a semi with Aspinall.
