Luke Humphries fuming as whistler puts darts star off in Luke Littler defeat

PDC world champion Luke Humphries was left seething with the crowd after being beaten 6-2 by Luke Littler in the Premier League in Cardiff. The 17-year-old had the crowd behind him as he again exacted a measure of revenge for his Ally Pally defeat, setting up a semi-final with Michael Smith.

But there was controversy when at 5-2 down, Humphries had a dart at double 16 to pull a leg back. Just as he began his throwing motion though, a loud whistle was sounded, and he duly missed his chance.

The 28-year-old proceeded to look back towards the crowd in disgust. And his annoyance remained apparent as he collected his darts and made way for Littler, who inevtiably rubbed salt into the wounds.

Still needing 85, he nailed a treble 15 to leave double tops. And the 17-year-old needed just one dart from there has the raucous crowd, that had been behind the youngster from the start, erupted.
