Lucy Letby 'sunbathed with child killer best pal and sang karaoke' in prison

Lucy Letby’s life in jail has sparked outrage after it was revealed that the killer nurse had been busy “sunbathing and singing karaoke with fellow child killers”.

Letby was given a whole life sentence earlier this year after being convicted of the murder of seven babies in her care and the attempted murder of six more at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and 2016.

It has now been reported that the 33-year-old hospital killer had previously formed a twisted prison gang during her time at HMP Bronzefield.

She is said to have become “inseparable” from baby poisoner Michelle Smith and Shauna Hoare, the Mirror reports.

A source said the three killers had spent months enjoying sunbathing, karaoke and movie nights.

Hoare, who was freed last month, was jailed for her part in the murder of schoolgirl Becky Watts.

She had served half of a 17-year sentence for manslaughter after helping to kill 16-year-old Becky.

Her then-boyfriend Nathan Matthews, who was Becky’s step-brother, was jailed for at least 33 years for the sexually motivated plot.

Smith was handed a life sentence in 2007 for feeding adult-strength painkillers to her six-week-old daughter Amy.

An insider told the Mirror: “They were together 24 hours a day – they were a well-known threesome and were literally never apart.

“They’d spend hours sitting on the wing landing playing board games, eating dinner together and tanning in the courtyard.

“I think they got on because they all believed they were innocent.”

Letby was locked up at Bronzefield while on remand ahead of her trial but has since been moved further north to HMP Low Newton in County Durham.

Another source said: “It’s a good job they’ve been separated. They are the last people you would want associating with each other.”

Letby faces a retrial on an outstanding charge – the alleged attempted murder of a baby girl, known as Child K, in February 2016.

A provisional trial date of June 10, 2024, with an estimated length of two to three weeks.
